Engaged visit

Updated

An engaged visit is a visit that did more than arrive: the person stayed, read or took an action. There is no industry-wide definition. The nearest is the engaged session in Google Analytics 4. That is a session that lasts over 10 seconds, has a key event, or has two or more page views.

Ad platforms count clicks, so a site that sends many clicks can still send few engaged visits. Say which definition a report uses before comparing two of them. Example: two sites each send a tourist board 500 visits from the same ad. On one, most visitors leave within seconds; on the other, most read on. Only the second sent readers.
