Partner referral

Updated

A partner referral is a tracked click from a tourist board's page to a member business. That could be a hotel's site, a tour company's booking page or a restaurant. We found no standard definition. For a board, it is often the last step it can count, because the partner takes the booking.

Example: Austria Tourism's ads led to pages on its own site. There, readers could "view various offers and book travel through a tourist partner" (Taboola, Nov 2017). Visit Armagh's campaign sent readers to its own pages first, then on to seven partners' home pages (DTTT, Feb 2025). Count referrals per partner, so each one sees what the campaign sent it.
